Marcos Silva is Named Our First Ever New Head Soccer Coach

After spending 5 years at Gateway Legacy Christian Academy, where he turned a small soccer program into a powerhouse in the country, we are very pleased to announce Marcos Silva as head soccer coach in our new soccer program.

A graduate in Sports Science from Oklahoma Baptist University and a master's degree in Sports Administration from Eastern New Mexico University, Marcos Silva has established himself as a well-known soccer coach after a great playing career. Living nineteen years in the United States, Silva was a college soccer player who was a two-year first team All-America at Oklahoma Wesleyan University before transferring to Oklahoma Baptist University.

His extraordinary abilities make him a different level coach on and off the field. His passion for the game allows him to work hard to recruit the right student/athlete to make Victory Rock soccer one of the best program in the Nation.

Marcos has a strong coaching background; he was the Assistant Coach for NCAA II Eastern New Mexico University where he got his master’s degree in Sports Administration. Two years later Silva went back to his alma mater as Assistant Coach at Oklahoma Baptist University, which was a NAIA school at the time.

Silva was not able to win their conference as a player, but as first season coach he won the Sooner Athletic Conference regular season and tournament for the first time in school history. This win took the Bison to the national tournament sweet sixteen once again, and the team was ranked as number seven in the NAIA Top 25 poll.

Coach Silva has opened door for many players to have a college career. There are more than 100 former players playing college at different levels.

“I am very excited to be chosen to be the first soccer coach ever at Victory Rock Prep. This is a honor to me. I know there will be challenges, but with hard work, dedication, and passion for my job, we will accomplish many great things together” said Marcos Silva
